Literacy task

last week we we're doing visual writing or something like that. We had to take a sentence from our book we're reading and put in a box then we have to draw some thing beside and that's what we see when we read that. We had to do 3 of those and this is mine it might be hard to see the writing but you can see the drawing I think

our pbl driving question

Our pbl driving question for this term is going to be what will the future ask of us.

what we have been doing for the last 2 days. we talked about in the future if robots will take our job and for cashier it came up 95% and for teacher it was 2% and for and for teacher assistants it was 90%.Today we talked about what jobs robots will take from us there were 10 but at the end of the video he said all jobs will taken like fast food restaurants because robots can do it way faster then human can and at McDonald's he said that it was easier to buy a 3500$ robot then paying a worker 15$ a hour.

We have been able to pick our pbl  groups for this term like the previous ones and we talked about 5 main problems in the world today i have 5 for you right  now 1 poverty 2 hunger 3 unnecessary drugs
4 obesity 5 global warming

are you scared or exited about the future

Diana Isaac

our school went to Diana Isaac every Friday in big ish groups and we played bingo and if you won you would receive a chocolate. I could have won but i tried letting the women next to me win because i think she really wanted the chocolate but my classmates were all trying to win but i didn't really care. We still got one at the end and if you didn't play bingo at the start you would go and talk to the people that were just in the room beside it. And me and a friend talked to this woman that was from a family of 19 which is a huge family and she said she grew up in otago and when it was my turn to play bingo one of the ladies who me and my classmate sat next to she would always put her counters in straight lines

what game would you like to play instead of bingo?

Breakout EDU

a few weeks back we did a test/mini game its breakout edu when you find locks and keys around the area its set in.  Your put in groups you have a timer of 30 minutes i think or 45 im not sure but my group was pretty good at it and we found the locks and keys pretty fast. We got out in 14 minutes or 15 still not sure but it was a fun experience and hope to do it again next year.

how fast would you solve it?

speech

Today i'll be sharing my speech to you  and hope you  enjoy it. its about racism and why it should stop hope you enjoy

Do you know what discrimination Is? Discrimination in when we  treat people unfairly based on their race, gender, ability or religion.

But my topic for this speech is racism. So i'm not racist but if your brown or a different skin tone  you don't have to worry about people being racist but
there are some racist people out there so if someone is racist to you or a friend or even someone you don't know help them out and don't join in.

But there is also stereotypes of racism. Like when people say Asians can't see or there really smart and I want to help not with the racism but to make it stop it doesn't help anyone sure he might get a laugh out of it but it wont help us. And in like a hour he will feel bad for you and you might be sad but words can't hurt you like the saying sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me.

If your Asian Japanese have you ever been told like you are smart at maths or a certain subject because of what you look like or because of your culture or if your brown people think you might hurt or do something illegal which is totally not true  that’s just just another stereotype. There are way more types of stereotypes and all that but you probably know what it means now. The only reason racism happens is because they are against the blacks/browns and I don't see why because like I said early is that people think brown people always do something bad which is still not true but people have their own opinions.

I want to make a change in our community and our school even at school heaps of racism happens  here and I don't like the way that sounds because were a christian school and we believe in god not racism it's bad enough that it happens all around the world but in our school that is just the worst of the worst because were christian s and we don't believe in racism. And it effects all of us it makes one of us feel bad and the other one is laughing until he actually feels bad for you and might say sorry or he will try to act tough when  he actually really feels bad.Which is really bad for him because he feels really bad now and you know he does. But i'm going a bit off topic right now so lets get back on to racism

What would you do if you saw someone being discriminated against

Goals for term 2

" It's one thing to say it's another to do it."

I've been looking in to what my goals for this term can be. I know that I'm sometimes late to workshops and that I don't always finish work on time and can be disorganised.

So my  goals for this term are:          get to workshops on time
to finish all my follow up  on time
to be organised for my workshops or Thursday sport

Ways I can achieve my goals: to check my planner so i know whats happening
I need to think of what's more important and what needs to be done first
have the things I need, to be ready

What goals  do you think stand out to you?

discrimination art

For PBL this term we're doing it on discrimination which is like racism, sexism you know.
So if you don't  know what discrimination is  it's basically racism as i said early but there is more types. There's religious discrimination and there's  ableism. Ableism   is when you  judge people for disabilities like people in wheelchairs when they cant get up some stairs. If some one makes a silly joke about it and you laugh or you  make a joke as well that's discrimination and we're trying to stop it not make it worse so help out instead of joining in.

Here's  my art - I have created an image of what we should be doing to stop discrimination and have included a anti-racist quote.

Do you agree with what im saying?

PBL term 2

Our  PBL this term is about discrimination. We have learnt about sexism racism and religion discrimination. so im going to tell you about sexism. its when you let a male watch or do something but don't let the females do it so if males get paid $1000 and females get $500 then that's discrimination and if you at least laugh a it at a silly joke about it then your not helping your making it worse.

did you know what discrimination was before this?
