Battle of the mountains

last week my reading group has been focusing on
battle of the mountains and we had to make some quiz questions

The Maori legend, “The Battle of the Mountains.”

The great mountain Tongariro felt uneasy as he looked across the gap at the scowling faces of Taranaki, Tauhara and Putauaki. He knew they were about to challenge him for the love of Pihanga.

Pihanga stood straight and still, sad at the situation that was brewing, for gentle was the nature of this beautiful lady who wore the fragrant cloak of the piki kaiarero.

Meanwhile Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe played, happy in the innocence of childhood, oblivious to the mounting tension around them.

The restless mountains hovered nearby, each preparing to claim Pihanga as his bride. But Tongariro stood in their way.

Tongariro, the tuakana, the eldest, watched, his eyes steady as each of the rival mountains stepped up and issued their challenge. Then, with the formalities over, the war began!

Loud rumblings rattled from deep inside of Taranaki. The ground shook with his passion, and out of his top knot flew red hot rocks that careered straight at the waiting Tongariro.

Retaliating immediately, Tongariro let out a deafening roar and sent boulders of fire hurtling back at Taranaki. Putauaki and Tauhara, seeing their chance, came from behind while Tongariro’s attention was diverted. Great flows of boiling lava came spilling out of their craters and rushed wildly at Tongariro’s back.

Pihanga’s warning gasp alerted the agile mountain, who quickly sidestepped the boiling rovers of volcanic spew.

The battle raged on. The earth shook and the air was thick with sulphurous fumes. Fierce was the fight for the beautiful Pihanga.

A mighty blow from Taranaki sent the topknot of Tongariro flying through the air and it landed with a tremendous splash in the great lake nearby. And still the deafening

Sports for school

I play basketball for the school and we used to do rugby but that's ended and now i focus on basketball.

I really like basketball but im not the best not everyone likes me either. I made it in to the A team which is the highest there is B and C team i think not sure. But we play on Thursdays and practice at school on Mondays we have lost 2 or 3 times im not sure how many. I think we have a good team to play this year it is the 3 term in the whole year and next term is the last term of school. Which im pretty exited about it even tho it's a  long time. But all and all i love basketball i think im going to play next term that's my blog hope you enjoyed it. Do you   like basketball?

Fortnite

Fortnite is a fun game i like playing it is mobile and you can play duos with a friend or squads with 3 friends. You can play on xbox one and ps4 i have never played it i just know lots about it. There is a new thing called the lighting cube and if you shoot it will attack you and if you hit it with pickax you will go flying in the air. People can troll if you shoot it from a distance with a sniper or hunting rifle it will attack the nearest person and it will kill them and it counts as a kill for you. Fortnite is cool and stuff but there  is a bad part  people will pay lots of many for skins and v bucks.Which is like money the game were you can buy stuff like skins gliders pickax and some other stuff. But people will buy v bucks for like 100 dollars and then buy all the stuff in the shop. well  my blog didn't cover much of the game but hope you enjoyed.

Follow up story

                   The Meerkats
In the Tumu hub we have been learning about speech marks and apostrophes.

There were meerkats sleeping then one got up and saw a nice fruit to eat.He decided to wake up his friends "Wake up!"

So all the friends got up and got out and looked at the majestic fruit. So they climbed than one said “Let's get it” so they climbed it but didn’t know that a vulture was above them!

The vulture took the fruit but the meerkats didn’t give up they made like a ladder and got on the vulture. And he didn’t like that so get angry and he lost the fruit. Then the meerkat got the fruit  and started passing it so the vulture couldn't get it.

Then they passed it to the vulture and he hit a mountain and then the meerkats got the fruit and ran away passing it and then dropped it.

Is there any more punctuation I could have used ?

Thursday sport

Our school and I have this sport day were everyone has too go to sport I play rugby. Which i like our school has to defend the shield for rugby. We have won all our games except  one spreydon school. They won 5 to 3 we lost because the ref was cheating he didn't call knock on's. And we did and they should have lost 3 to 2 we should have won they cheated but it's alright just annoying. Our coach said that is who we are going to vs in the finals. But  we beat a team like 18 to 2 it was fun i scored my first try.

Epic books

Epic books is a thing that we do at my school. You can read them or you can have them read to you. Im actually listening to one right now while doing this blog. It is really fun if you want to enter a reading challenge. You might use epic books. It is fun and you can do it if want.  I still use epic and you have characters and you have a background. And you can change them when you read more books. And for our school we do this thing and if you read seven books and review them all you get a free pizza. Or free time if you don't want pizza. And you have a circle around you character and mine is a rainbow around a dog. Tell me how many books you have read at the end of the week.

reading eggs

Reading eggs is a new game that we play at my school. It is very fun and you can learn stuff about reading and others. It is really fun and i would recommend it. It has lots of levels and exiting adventures. You have a mall that you can buy pets cards tv's and more. You have your own apartment and you can put all your fun stuff in there. You also have a good view and you can change it you get 10 eggs every level. And you have to read the books to know the questions. You have ten questions and if you get all ten right you get 100 eggs. And you have to at least get 80 because you can't pass without getting 80%. Out of 100% it is very fun and you should really try it.

MY silent writing

 One day there was a boy called Pablo he was a boy who liked to adventure. Pablo is an only child he lives with his mum. his parents aren’t together he is always going places. because he has his dad’s to go his dad and mum’s place he goes to the beach and hiking and all types of places. he goes in tow a lot of the time with his dad   he goes and eats ice cream with his dad. his dad’s job is a painter his mum is a lawyer one night Pablo left his room and he went to carnival and he went to a concert and now it is seven in the morning he went back home he lost his dad last night he went to a bar and got stabbed in back his mum i  sat work and he’s going take care of Pablo but they don’t know he got stabbed  the mum called the dad he didn’t pick up the mum goes to the dad’s house and he’s gone the blood is left on the floor that’s when they realise he’s dead the body is still there they were in shock  Pablo had his funeral in the father's favourite place in the world were he never went it was  Christchurch in Nz they left america they stayed in Christchurch for a while then go back to  america and the family and Pablo’s brothers and sisters are very sad and now since Pablo is always thinking about the dad so Pablo is failing school and not going to school and he’s not going to his nerd meeting Pablo is a nerd by the way and all Pablo does now is sit in his room it has been 20 years and Pablo is all grown up and he hasn’t left his house since his dad dying and his mum is 89 years old and he is his mum is out shopping and when the mum comes home she see’s Pablo with a rope around his head dead in the air and the mum did cpr on him he was dead the mum is all alone but she still has her life but the next day the mum had a heart attack then the whole family is dead but as soon as the mum died she got pregnant she died in a supermarket people called the hospital and they said she’s having a baby at 89 years of age the baby was getting born the doctors  held the baby but who was going to raise the baby Pablo’s cousin’s of course but they don’t know that Pablo has cousin’s they don’t even know Pablo but the mum has a photo of Pablo and his cousin’s in a photo and it shows where the cousin’s live the ambulance  rushed to the cousin’s house and the cousin’s took good care of the little girl by the way the baby was a girl 10 years went passed and the cousin’s now passed away the girl has to find a job to get money she was on the streets for a couple of days now she has no job she only has 15 dollar’s she went the supermarket to get food and clothes she didn’t have much money so she didn’t get clothes but she got food and drinks but she found a job for a  hairdresser  she made 20 bucks a hour she got fired after 3 hours she found a job at a supermarket it was her birthday so her friends at the supermarket hosted a party for her so she wasn’t lonely on her birthday her name is Emma she is a 11 now and she as a house with her friends and she has a job what would you need to make money she need’s to go to school the manager said if she does not go to school then she will be fired from the job and then she will be back on the street so she went to school she didn’t get fired which was lucky on her part but on the murderer’s part it was bad the man who is hunting her is the murderer of Pablo’s dad he is wiping out their family slowly he killed the dad he wanted Pablo to kill himself he did the died by old age and a heart attack now he’s going to kill Emma he’s going to kill there family it’s the next day and Emma ate her breakfast and then she goes to school and goes to the supermarket finish’s her shift and goes home and then goes to Mc donalds and eat it at Mc donalds  and then goes home to her friend’s place and watch tv and that’s her day but she went to the supermarket again when she goes to the charger ile a full shelf falls and hits her  she had to get stitches on her toe  and she is still in hospital she got to go from hospital but as soon as she got out of hospital when she goes to her friends place her

vietnamese spring rolls

On Monday we made Vietnamese spring rolls. We had carrots, noodles, lettuce and cucumber and it was fun.  It came with sauce and the noodles were sticky.We watched a video how to make them we dipped them in water and put plastic around them to soak in the water.
We did 2 other Chinese activities. We made dragons for the lantern festival and we did a dance that was Hawain.  The song was Pearly Shells.
